As a larger storm system moves well to the south and east of the area, a trough will swing through this evening providing adequate lift for scattered snow showers across the region. Snow shower activity will impact the area between 5PM and 11PM. A light dusting to a coating of snow (around 0.5”) appears to be the most likely outcome for most of the area. Isolated areas cannot rule out an inch of snow, especially across SW CT and the Hudson Valley.

Temperatures will be very cold during this event (between 19 and 23 degrees) so any snow that falls will stick readily. Temperatures drop even further into Friday morning – with another morning 10 to 15 degrees above for many. It’s been a cold enough winter – we just havn’t seen “the big one” in terms of snowfall!
