A WIND ADVISROY is in effect statewide from this this evening through Friday evening. Winds will slowly ramp up this as this evening progresses. It will start to feel gustier after 6PM and then winds will really ramp up between 10PM and 12AM. The peak of the winds will last from about 12AM tonight through Friday afternoon. Scattered tree and power issues are expected, especially across the hills where gusts may locally exceed 50 mph. A High Wind Warning was issued for areas just to the North of CT in the hills of Western and Central Massachusetts.
In addition to the wind, temperatures will fall below freezing tonight. The winds is expected to dry up much of the residual moisture, but we cannot rule out a few icy areas. Stay alert!
