Happy Friday! đ Hereâs what to expect as we head into a very active stretch of winter weather across the region.
1. Increasing Clouds Today
Clouds will thicken through the day as our next system approaches. High temperatures will stay coldâgenerally in the upper 20s to low 30s across the area.
2. Light Snow Arrives This Evening
Snow begins to break out around 8 PM, spreading steadily across Connecticut. While snowfall rates remain light, the air and ground are both cold enough for quick sticking, which means slick travel is likely overnight. Take it slow if youâre out and about.
3. Snow Lingers Into Saturday
Snow showers continue into Saturday morning, and the exact end time is a bit tricky. Some areas may hold onto flakes until midday or even early afternoon.
Snow intensity stays generally light, except in eastern Connecticut, where an inverted trough may enhance snowfall.
- 1â3 inches for most of the state
- 2â5 inches in far NW CT and parts of Eastern CT
- Localized 6 inches cannot be ruled out in parts of Northeastern CT

As the snow tapers, the wind machine turns on. Expect widespread gusts of 35â50 mph Saturday afternoon and evening.
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect across Southern CT and adjacent NY.

An EXTREME COLD WARNING is in place until 1 PM Sunday. Limit time outdoors and keep pets safe.
6. EarlyâWeek Outlook
Temperatures rebound to âregular coldâ Monday and Tuesday. A clipper system may bring another round of light snow on Wednesday.
