A Freeze Warning is in effect from 1 AM to 9 AM EDT Monday for parts of the region. Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 30°F, especially in outlying and low-lying areas. These conditions pose a risk to sensitive vegetation, which may suffer damage or be killed if left unprotected. A FROST ADVISORY is in effect for shoreline locations.
You may notice there are no Freeze Warnings for Northern CT from the National Weather Service (NWS), as they typically discontinues freeze warnings for the northern half of Connecticut after October 21. This does not mean that it will not be cold in Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties – the growing season is just considered shorter there. Residents are encouraged to take precautions such as covering plants or bringing them indoors where possible.
Stay tuned to local forecasts and be prepared for a chilly start to the week. No 80 degree temperatures this Halloween!
