Rain is expected to move into the state late tonight and continue through Wednesday morning. The general window for precipitation is 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, with the heaviest rain likely during the morning commute (5:00 AM to 9:00 AM). If you’re heading out early, be prepared for wet roads and reduced visibility.
Most areas can expect 0.25 to 0.75 inches of rain, with a few towns possibly picking up close to 1.00 inch. This is much-needed rainfall, as many parts of Connecticut are currently 4 to 6 inches below average in precipitation since August 1st.
Rain should begin to taper off by midday Wednesday, and partial clearing is expected during the afternoon from west to east.
Below is the HRRR future radar for 8:00 AM Wednesday, showing widespread rain across the region at that time.
