A strong area of high pressure in the upper atmosphere is moving over the eastern U.S. this week, bringing warm weather to Connecticut and the first chance at 90 degree temperatures this season. Winds will be light, mostly from the south at 10 mph or less. Skies will be mostly clear thanks to the high-pressure system keeping clouds away.

  • Tuesday: High temperatures will be in the middle 70s to low 80s across the area… coolest at the coast.
  • Wednesday: It will get even warmer, with temperatures around 80°F near the coast and mid to upper 80s inland. This is about 7 to 10 degrees warmer than usual for this time of year.
  • Thursday: High temperatures will be in the middle 80s to upper 80s across the area… highs of 90°F are possible across the I84 corridor and the CT River Valley.

As the heat increases, the humidity will slowly build as well. This will set the stage for storm chances Friday and Saturday as a cold front approaches the region. Keep an eye on the storm threat as we head through the week.
