A storm system moving through the center of the country this afternoon will impact the region starting Friday morning. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been hoisted for Northern Westchester, Northern New Haven, and Litchfield County as precipitation may begin in the form of wintery mix or freezing rain at the onset.

The Winter Weather Advisory by the NWS starts at 4AM but thinking the more likely start time is between 6AM and 8AM for our forecast area. With a lack of truly cold air in place and a SW wind, skeptical of the longevity of any freezing precipitation. Thinking it is fully possible most areas within the Advisory zone see temperatures rise to 32 degrees or above prior to precipitation starting, limiting the impacts of the event. Outside of the Advisory area, plain rain is expected.

For now, leaning towards a low to no impact event overall. Latest European model ice accumulation below shows this nicely!
