CONNECTICUT WEATHER’S LATEST FORECAST DISCUSSION

April 21st 2026 8:00 AM

It is a very chilly start to the day across the area as clear skies and light winds allowed  temperatures to drop into the 20s across a large chunk of the forecast area. A hard freeze was  noted in many communities, with damage to sensitive plants reported. It will be a mostly suny  start for your Tuesday, but clouds do increase during the afternoon as a weak frontal system  approaches the area.

A warm front approaching late Tuesday into Wednesday will bring increasing clouds and the  chance for rain/snow showers, especially overnight into Wednesday morning as a weak low  passes through. The main window for shower activity will be between 12AM Wednesday and

12PM Wednesday. No snow accumulation is expected. Milder weather returns mid-to-late  week with high temperatures in the 60s before conditions potentially turn more unsettled  heading into the weekend. Awaiting better model consensus before giving more details on  shower potential Saturday.
