CONNECTICUT WEATHER’S LATEST FORECAST DISCUSSION

Strong high pressure builds in today with a chilly airmass in place. Expect abundant sunshine with high temperatures in the middle 50s. Temperatures will be running about 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year. Yet another FREEZE WATCH is in effect for much of the area Thursday night into Friday morning as temperatures will again dip into the upper 20s to low 30s across the interior. Expect more sunshine on Friday with temperatures a hair warmer approaching 60 degrees.

With high pressure slowly traversing the area, expecting dry weather through Saturday with a gradual warming trend in temperatures by Sunday. A weak disturbance comes into the area Saturday night with showers, but most of the activity will conclude by Sunday morning. Models remain well aligned with above average temperatures as we head towards May, with widespread upper 60s to mid-70s away from the immediate shoreline. Monday and Tuesday look especially warm with some inland areas making a strong run into the uppers 70s and perhaps even 80 degrees.
